I’ve left my PhD behind…

…, but I’m being put under pressure to publish

This is an anonymous opinion piece, published by the Guardian’s higher Education Network and based on the personal experience of the author following the completion of his or her PhD. It explains the pressure to publish that continued after the PhD had been awarded. It is well written and thought provoking, arguing that expectations for publications should be clearly explicated by institutions and funding bodies.

As a personal opinion it may not represent the normal experience of those who have completed their PhD.

It is, however, worth reading. It may be accessed by clicking on this link.
