Ready, Set, Go: PhD Students’ Take on the Three Minute Thesis

How do you present three years or more and around 80,000 words of research in three minutes? Well, as explained by the News web page of the Ivey, this is the task of the Three Minute Thesis competition that began in 2008 at the University of Queensland, but has spread to over 170 Universities in 17 countries. While the competition may be a bit of fun, it is nevertheless a useful exercise to try and explain your thesis as succinctly as possible. Why not try it yourself with family and friends? You may find the task reveals a lot about your powers of explanation and how well you have truly grasped your own thesis.
